Materials needed:

1/2 - 1 yard. Of a 2 - way stretch (more vintage - like) (or 4 way) for the brief body and gusset face fabric.

And a very small amount of 100% cotton lining for the gusset interior. I use an old t shirt for mine. 

I use a synthetic very lightweight micro knit material as it closely mimicked the material of the actual vintage nylon panties I've sourced for research. However a cotton jersey would also be nice, and is more commonly used in this case. This is the most breathable option. I suggest finding the lightest weight possible.  

Consideration a good stretch and bounce back for a snug fit.

Elastic: About 1.5 yards. I use an old cotton blended elastic which is very soft. Modern elastics typically are strong and more rigid, consider the comfort of this when choosing your elastic. Picot or fold over elastic could be used in this case however I don't cover it in this tutorial. 

Sizing: I used "universal US standards" for my sizing and tested on a few friends.

XS - 26" waist

S - 27" waist

M - 28" waist

This pattern is really easy to take out or let in if needed.
