Battenburg Bustier
This isn't Battenburg Lace, used on the underpinnings of the bodice beneath the mesh, and collar. But I love the name (and I do have some). I'm not sure what this kind of lace I used is called... I intend to visit the Lacis Museum of Lace & Textiles soon to find out. I collect loads of lace and plan to incorporate it into more tops just as unique as this one. This top has a strong dark green stretch knit bodice, acting like a push-up bandeau. 3/4 length sleeves with awesome fringy trim in a modest balloon sleeve shape. Brown silk is overlayed with black swiss-dot tulle make up the body of the sleeves. Big charming black buttons and elastic loops fasten up the back. A mocha silk sash cut on the bias stretches and can be tied in a bow at the center front. The peplum is cotton with a dead stock polyester lace trim.
