Taffeta Tailcoat Big Bow Bolero
This little jacket ties at the front in an oversized sculptural bow, wrapping the body lightly before falling open into two dramatic points. The fabric holds its shape beautifully, structured but airy, giving the bow and pleats in the back a satisfying crispness. When tied firmly it can also function almost like a soft bustier, creating a subtle lift and an 18th-century inspired bust line.
The sleeves are shaped with two traditional elbow darts, a historical tailoring detail rarely used in modern garments. This subtle shaping allows the sleeve to follow the natural bend of the arm rather than hanging stiffly straight, creating a more graceful silhouette in motion. Finished with lime-yellow soft lace trim at the cuffs and hem for a contrast against the petrol blue taffeta.
Designed to sit somewhere between lingerie and evening wear, wear it open over a slip, tied over bare skin, or layered with something unexpected.
